VP of Creative / Y&R

My name is Andre Felix, and I’m a half Brazilian, half Portuguese U.S. resident who’s crazy about ideas, though my closest friends would say I’m just crazy.

Either way, this brought me to becoming VP / Creative Director at Y&R Miami, and I serve on the board of creatives for Latin America within the Y&R group. I currently work on Coca Cola, beIN Sports, Mazda and Dell.

Before leaving Brazil, I had the privilege of leading Mood\TBWA to its first Cannes Lion in 2014, which was also the only Lion in the mobile category for TBWA Worldwide. In Cannes 2015, I repeated the achievement winning 3 more lions with Huggies’ Meeting Murilo: one gold, one silver, and one bronze, which was the first Lion for Brazil in the category of Innovation Creative Data.

I also received 6 shortlists at the festival. I started my career as a copywriter in Rio de Janeiro, but I knew that to reach my dreams I’d one day have to move to São Paulo, so I did. There, I worked at Havas Digital, Loducca, Facebook, ID\TBWA, and Mood\TBWA.

Then I had the opportunity to experience an international career, so I moved to the United States to be SVP / Digital Creative Director at Omnicom’s Zimmerman Advertising, where I was able to help the agency achieve its first ever creative award, with recognition at the New York Festivals and The One Show.

In my journey, I had the pleasure of working with regional and global brands such as Huggies, Kirin Brazil, Giraffas, Multiplan, Dr. Oetker, Jornal Metro, Shell, Oster, Penguin Books, Phillips, Jamba Juice, Nissan, Peugeot, Citroen and Dunkin’ Donuts, among other high-profile brands.
 
During this beautiful ride, I’ve had to honor of being awarded in several festivals around the world such as Cannes Lions, Clios, Effie Awards, New York Festivals, The One Show, The Webby Awards, El Ojo, FIAP, Wave Festival, MMA Smarties, IAB Mixx, Magazine Awards, Globes Awards, CCSP, and Festival of Media LatAm. Additionally, in 2014, I was considered the the Digital Creative Director of the Year at the Lusos Awards in Portugal.

I’ve also had the opportunity to Judge several festivals festivals around the world, including the USA, Brazil, Argentina, South Korea, Great Britain, Portugal and France. I’ve been in juries for the categories of Innovation, Digital, Mobile, Promo & Activation, and Out of Home.

I first learned my craft when I studied Advertising at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC). I then went on to complete two post-graduate degrees in Service Marketing and Sports Marketing at the Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), and later obtained a Master’s in Business Administration from IBMEC.  I also had the opportunity to work as a professor at ESPM in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.

I’m currently a board member of IAB Brazil, the International Academy of Arts and Sciences New York (IADAS), and was recently selected as a top 5 Digital Creative Director at Creativepool.
